What Are These Plz?

Recommended Posts

The one on the right is used in boot making. I can't remember what it's used for though.

Tool on the right is a welt plow (plough), I believe.

The tool on the left is for cutting a channel and the tool on the right is a welt cutter. A welt plough is something different .

Both tools are shoemakers tools.

The tool on the right is called a welt knife but is not used to cut welts on boots and shoes. It is used to trim the heel rand . The rand is the top layer of the heel on a shoe or boot. It lays on the leather about 90 degrees out from the boot and it has a lip or fence that allows the blade to reach only so far. Lay it on the rand and with pressure go around the heel to trim, level, it. Frank.

Hi

Could anyone shed some light as to what these two tools are and how they are used?

Cheers me dears FC
