Aggiebraider Report post Posted December 7, 2010 The easiest way to finish this braid without making a more difficult pineapple knot would be to make a terminal turk's head knot. If you have any braiding books at all such as any of the Bruce Grant books, you should be able to find a terminal turks head. If you cant find the instructions, let me know and I can try and explain it to you. Hope this helps, CW
TwinOaks Report post Posted December 7, 2010 If you want the 'tassle' end follow Aggie's advice. You could also make an eye and braid the end back into the main body, or make what effectively is a butt splice. Here's a link that you might like. it shows the 4 strand braid on a snap with a terminal eye, you'll just have to click the tutorial for the dog lead. http://myriam.dakotabraiding.com/
aspanol Report post Posted December 8, 2010 How thick will the width of each strip be around?
Aggiebraider Report post Posted December 9, 2010 It would all depend on how big you wanted the finished diameter and if you were wanting to use a core. I think 1/8" lace that is beveled makes a very nice 4 strand braid with no core. It pulls together nicely and ends up fairly thin. That size would probably work best for this application.
