Maybe Make Piggy Banks?

I thought of something that might 'sell'. I want to send a friend a Piggy Bank,.. sort of as a joke. And, I want the Piggy Bank to fit inside a Small Flat Rate Box. (Yes, it will be mailed to a foreign country.) So, the vision came to me of making a collapsable Piggy Bank, with two flat sides, short (mostly decorative) legs, and lacing all around the piggy shape. It would have about a two inch, collapsable band running all around, to make it 3D when it's full of coins. It will take me a long time to make one, and I know that there are others here who could probably do this in a day. But since it seemed like a good idea to me, I just wanted to share it with this nice community. - TexasLady

I have a pattern book which I bought several years ago from The Leather Craftsman Magazine titled: NOVELTY COIN PURSES.

It has an assortment of coin purses/piggy banks which are rather small in size. I have made a few myself.

I'll see if I can download these to this site later on some time.

My first thought was that you could make a piggy bank by adapting Tom Thumb purse, But after closer read of OP and hearing about the " NOVELTY COIN PURSES " I think that this will be much tricker than what I had in mind.

Eagerly waiting to see patterns
