Members materbona Posted February 22, 2011 Members Report Posted February 22, 2011 Hi--I am relatively new to your website. I dabble in a lot of different directions and am so curious about leather. I'd love to be able to sew together something simple. I recently bought a Sailrite machine whiich I really like for heavier fabric and it sews light leather just fine when I've tried scraps. I bought this punch to use for heavy fabric/light leather. I thought it would be a "rolling" punching thing. I have no idea how to use it. I guess you have to unscrew the lever on the right to select the correct punch size, and then tighten it back. What is the punch with no hole at all in it for? Then I guess the left side lever is some sort of lock. Also, I would like to know where to purchase leather strips for handbag straps and smaller strips to sew together pieces of light leather. I have a lot of furniture leather sample squares. Quote
dirtclod Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 To punch a hole just squeeze it . To chage sizes of holes grab the wheel and turn it, you don't need to unscrew anything. I've never seen a tube that doesn't have a hole in it. You will probley want to rub some bees wax or parfarin on the tubes when you punch your holes. When their new the tubes want to stick. You can get leather straps from http://springfieldleather.com/store/ they will cut to size. Quote
