Members D JONES Posted March 1, 2011 Members Report Posted March 1, 2011 Does anybody have a Colt 1911, 45 cal holster pattern? I'm trying to find some different patterns that I'd like to try and make holsters for all the 45'e that I have. Thanks for any idea. Quote
Contributing Member BillB Posted March 1, 2011 Contributing Member Report Posted March 1, 2011 Why don't you draw your own? That is the way I always made holsters and it gives a much cleaner fit. That way any variants in the Colt's design gets accounted for. It's not that hard. BillB Quote
Contributing Member TwinOaks Posted March 2, 2011 Contributing Member Report Posted March 2, 2011 +1 You'll get a much better fit by making your own pattern and it allows you customize it to your needs. That and since we all have different patterns, you'd have a hard time getting the proper fit without knowing our own specific methods. For example: What weight leather? How detailed? IWB/OWB? How is it sewn? etc.....even down to the finish. You can do a search on this forum for making patterns and look at some of the pics to get an idea of how to do it. Quote
