Another New Guy Needing Some Help

I've always liked stuff made out of leather and I love firearms the main problem is that since I like firearms so much getting new leather for them each time tends to border on the slightly expensive to the ridiculous. I would really likle to learn how to make my own holsters but I have no real idea where to start. I've been looking around on here quite a bit and i have a good idea of what basic tools I am going to need and I also have a good start on wet molding and and stitching. However, I don't have a stinking clue on how to lay out a design of my holster that I have in my head or what supplies I will need to make the holster, ie(snaps, clips for iwb holster, thread for stiching etc.) So if anyone could offer any help at all it would be greatly appreciated.

Chris, If you are planning to make holsters I'd suggest that you get Al Stohlman's book "How to Make Holsters". It pretty well lays out and covers most of your questions. It runs about $12. Most holster makers I know have a beat up old coppy around their place. I bought mine in the early '60s. Mike
