Relly Report post Posted March 15, 2011 There are finishing techniques spread throughout the forums, and getting the better ones all in one place seems like a really good idea. Do we have a formal cookbook of recipes for finishing leather? If we do not, I would like to see one. You could practically have a chapter on vinegaroon by itself. Does anyone else think about using index cards for their own favorite finishes? That's something that I might do for myself - put my favorite recipes on cards. Maybe I missed it and there's a cheap, wonderful book on leather finishing out there already? It seems like Amazon.com isn't a great help on this topic. Okay, back to my sample pieces ... dragonspit Report post Posted March 15, 2011 This is a rockin idea in my opinion. probably cause im new and dont know anything, lol. if you did this well enough, could we put it together as money maker for the site and sell it. if anything else just a major area of understaning. I had tons of questions, went searching in the dye and stain forum. it could be endless, but the simple things arent pinned and could be like: when you use dye, or stain. how to thin or not. examples. I really think this is a good idea. it might even take some time to do correctly but would be worth it to the general public I think. my 2 cents.
