Members The Farmers Daughter Posted March 26, 2011 Members Report Posted March 26, 2011 (edited) I just picked up a real nice saddle at auction. Its a 15 inch roper by Lookout Saddlery. It has unique embellished D's and a super comfortable seat with a narrow twist and a deep pocket. The latigo holder says Lookout saddlery with a L inside a diamond shape. Appreciate any information. I am not familiar with this maker. Thanks all. Edited March 26, 2011 by The Farmers Daughter Quote

Members Saddlebag Posted April 3, 2011 Members Report Posted April 3, 2011 Pics don't show a lot but from what I'm seeing this is a factory saddle of moderate value. The leather on the fender looks like lit was taken from a less desirable part of the hide. I suspect the Lookout name is the shop that sold it. The factories often withheld identifying marks if a saddle wasn't quite up to snuff. The retailer would get a good deal and add his own stamps. Quote
