Members treefarmernc Posted April 1, 2011 Members Report Posted April 1, 2011 I’ve been putting together a few holsters for the past 4 months (also my first 4 months leather working). I have dabbled with black stain and vinageroo but I want to get more involved with staining and coloring. What are the best books to obtain? Tandy sells “Coloring Leather” and “How to Color Leather” Which is better? Are their other /better options out their? Also I want to branch out to more holster types; so what is the better holster pattern packs/books. I am leaning a little more toward western holsters but would like to have a well rounded selection. Again’ Tandy has a couple of selections with “Holster & Gun Belt Pattern Pack” being the one that I’m looking at possibly getting. Is this a good choice or are their better or more complete choices out there. Thanks. Quote
Denster Posted April 1, 2011 Report Posted April 1, 2011 (edited) The best pattern packs for western holsters and belts are Will Gormley's pattern packs. Generally available at Tandy or direct from Will at his website. For instruction get or rent John Bianchi's DVDs. You can rent the set at smartflix.com Edited April 1, 2011 by Denster Quote
