Members Jbarv Bulls Posted April 10, 2011 Members Report Posted April 10, 2011 What finish do most bootmakers use to keep the dye from running when boots get wet? Or for that matter, is there any finish that doesnt get slimy when it gets wet? Ive been using bagkote or neatlac on things lately, if they get a little wet, it just goes to slime. Quote
Contributing Member BillB Posted April 10, 2011 Contributing Member Report Posted April 10, 2011 Have you tried Clear Boot Polish? First coat takes a lot of work to seal the leather. BillB Quote
Members Jbarv Bulls Posted April 10, 2011 Author Members Report Posted April 10, 2011 No, Im wanting to find something to seal up spur straps, knife sheaths and the like . Thinking polish would be tough to work on stamped leather. Quote
