Hello, I'm Joel from Arlington Texas. I work as a helicopter engine mechanic but have been interested in leather a long time. As a kid I lived in Yoakum TX (once TX leather capitol) where in school we learned to tool leather and I have had a few family members who have worked in tanneries there also.

I am currently interested in making motorcycle leather accessories (tank bibs and bags) for myself and friends as a side hobby. I haven't tried to tool leather since I was a kid in school and would like to learn more and get suggestions and comments on my work.

My first project was looking ok till I tried to apply stain and ruined it. I used very dark stain which I thought was going to be lighter.

My second project is pictured here. A wallet that came with my first kit. I messed up the staining again but think I'm improving. Please let me know what you think.

Thanks, Joel
