Members TapTapTap Posted May 4, 2011 Members Report Posted May 4, 2011 This is 'our' first attempt at using colours instead of various shades of antique dye. I did the carving and my wife did the colouring. The technique she used was to antique the whole picture and then using a damp cloth wipe off all excess dye except for the border. She then used her acrylic folk art paints and in some areas spirit dyes to achieve the result. We realize we have a lot to learn so I have signed up to do the course with Paul Burnett. We would appreciate any comment. regards TapTapTap Quote Do cattle stare at you when you pass them? BJB
Members Double U Leather Posted May 5, 2011 Members Report Posted May 5, 2011 WOW......that looks really nice. Very impressive. I've never done any portrait type carving, although I have an order for one coming up. I hope mine turns out half as nice as this one. Good work. Quote
