tbmow Report post Posted May 20, 2011 (edited) Hi All, This site has been a great resource to realize that I can (probably) make a custom laptop/brief case before starting school again (3rd time) this fall. Anybody looking for some fairly good prices on leather should look at http://www.fabricmartfabrics.com/xcart/Genuine-Skins/ The limited skins they have are currently on sale for 50% off and if you search their site, you can get an additional 20% off. (Note that the net savings is not 70% off, but 60% because the discounts are taken sequentially). Nothing for you tooling types, but for hacks like me, it isn't too bad. Don't work for them, nor do they have a referral program (bummer!) If you are interested in examining some old books, try www.archive.org or use this link: http://www.archive.org/search.php?query=leather%20AND%20mediatype%3Atexts the beauty of this site compared to goggle is that everything is public domain and accessible, no clicking on a result and only seeing two or three lines... There are all types of books there from patterns, to decoration, to processing leather (check the chemicals before doing this though!)
