Members lavingtongal Posted June 28, 2011 Members Report Posted June 28, 2011 I am a newbie changing the shearling lining on an older saddle. Someone told me that the knap on the skin should be opposite on the two sides to prevent the saddle from shifting around. Does this make any sense? It does mean that the centre wool (heaviest) won't be used on the centre of one of the sides unless I use two skins. Help! Quote
gtwister09 Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 I know that there are some previous threads and here's one of the first ones that I found. It will give you some idea how to proceed concerning directions. Sheepskin Directions #1 Regards, Ben Quote

My questions are answered and now I can finish the job....I had one side done (to make sure I could reassemble the saddle) and didn't want to continue without a definitive answer. I am enjoying the challenge and would probably attempt this project again . Thanks again. Quote
