Now all that is left to the braid is to give it a light pounding with a rawhide hammer or a polly hammer from tandy, then use a roller of some type to roll on top of both sides of the braid. This will then square up the edges a little better. Over all the braid you did looks real good.

I'm going to have to get a better picture. On closer inspection of the picture it almost looks like a round braid. The sides do have pretty good corners. I'll try for the picture tomorrow, Tonight I'm going to go for the 20 plait!! First time ever with that many strings.

I'd asked about rectangular braids on this thread here http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=33294&st=0&gopid=207090entry207090 and was redirected to this thread.

My question maybe rather silly, im still very much a beginner and my copy of Bruce Grant is yet to arrive.

If i am attempting the trenza de doce, do i lay out my 12 strands as flat or doubled up as 6 upon 6

I lay mine out flat and do an over 1, under 1 until all the strings are braided in that fashion. Then I start the Trenza De Doce from there.
