cem Report post Posted July 20, 2011 Just wondering does anyone know if Gingher Scissors come in a left handed version. I can normally use right handed scissors with no problem ie I've never used left handed scissors before but how the cutting angle is on Ginghers makes it difficult to cut a precise shape. I've got quite small hands so can turn them over but it does become uncomfortable after awhile. I do use knives as well for cutting but there is one thing I like using scissors for and I would love to be able to keep using the Ginghers without getting a sore thumb. Thankyou for any help Cheers, Clair

They are sold by Roberts Crafts online (http://robertscrafts...&ProductID=6851), amazon (http://www.amazon.co...11134671&sr=8-1), Kmart online (http://www.kmart.com...90000000080137P), Possibly your local quilt and hobby stores. I can't find an Australian source for the lefts, but they DO make them. (augh, forgot to look at the country again, sorry). cem Report post Posted July 21, 2011 Thankyou for the links WinterBear, I buy most of my tools from overseas anyway. I bought the Ginghers from Springfield a sponsor here I think I will drop them an email and see if they know as mine look to be a different model to the ones you posted. Thanks again Cheers, Clair
WinterBear Report post Posted July 21, 2011 I'll wish you luck then and hope you find exactly what you need. It is no fun using shears that don't fit your hand. Have you considered contacting Ghinger directly and asking if they make the model you want in left-handed? http://www.gingher.com/static/contact/ Worth a shot as not every model they make is shown in their product catalog. cem Report post Posted July 30, 2011 Springfield don't have them and their distibutor doesn't carry them anymore, so have I've tried the Gingher link Winterbear gave just waiting on a reply. Kings X could you please ask your friend as well, there has been a few views of this thread so some others might be interested in trying to locate some too. The model I have is MODEL: 9080C-8, 8 INCH BLUNT UTILITY SHEARS Thankyou, Clair

cem Report post Posted August 11, 2011 I've heard back from Gingher they don't do that model in a left handed version oh well, I'm getting used to the ones I have though so probably won't go for a specific lefty version now. But I'll get back to the rep and ask if they have any other models suitable for cutting leather in a left handed version in case anyone else is interested. King's X Report post Posted August 11, 2011 CEM Glad you updated the post. I couldn't find it earlier to post this information. Apparently, you found out the same information that I did, but my contact provided me with this substitute for you. Sorry no source for ginghers. A good scissor is sold by Wolff Industries. Www.wolffind.com Under the Kai name. Good stuff. I hope this works out for you!
