TomSwede Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 Hey Johann! Great looking briefcase. Love the colouring. Looks almost like some sort of texture, did you do the colouring and if so, how? I'm really curious to know what's going on with that braid at the bottom since it doesn't seem to go over the edge. Never seen that before. I've seen some of Rene Berends work and it's great. How nice to have such a teacher! Keep it up and keep posting! Tom Quote

Members manfrommuc Posted June 4, 2008 Author Members Report Posted June 4, 2008 @all thanks for the flowers @tom this art of dyeing is done by a pice of cloth and the color is saddle tan the important thing is to be very carefully with dyeing not to much dye on the cloth and allways start on the top left corner of your pice of leather and allways make a circular moving with your pice of cloth till no more dye get on your leather and than start this action again with the lacing you are right this art of lacing is going over the edges (-: i hope the declaration is good enough greetings from bavaria manfrommuc Quote

TomSwede Posted June 6, 2008 Report Posted June 6, 2008 Sweet sweet sweet. That is a nice braid but for me the whole purpose with braiding is to avoid having to do the tideous edging, lol;-) Tom Quote

I have seen one of his boxes with a leather hinge on it and it took me several days to create one of my own. I am still stuck on just how to do the pin on it - well maybe not as it so happens I have just had a thought as to how to do it. But once done these will make lovely and durable hinges for my cue cases. Very very nice briefcase - schlicht und sicher. Quote
