How Do People Make The Belt Headstalls? Or Can You Use Part Of A Belt For A Thick Browband?

Hi,

I have been seeing people make belt headstalls. I like browband headstalls. So I was wondering if you could use belts for the browband and the cheek pieces. and if I would need to add a layer to the back for more support. I like how they paint the leather so I thought that would be cool to make a painted headstall out of a belt if possible.
