Purple Heart Holster Inlay

Recommended Posts

I have a request for a holster with a Purple Heart inlay. He only wants the medal portion of the Purple Heart incorporated into the holster somehow. I'm not sure how to do this, or if it is even possible. Have any of you done anything like this before, and if so, would you mind sharing some tips?

If I was gonna do it I wouldn't inlay it I'd carve and detail it on the holster

Actually, if you wanted to use an actual Purple Heart as a Concho or wanted to lace it in place. You could pick one up and take it to a Jeweler and have the threaded post soldered to the center, or have loops soldered onto the edges for lacing.

Something else you might consider is an Embroidered Purple Heart which you could glue and laminate then cover with Resolene.

Or as suggested, Carve one or have one carved. I know there are plenty here who could do a very nice one and would probably work something out with you.

I have never inlaid anything like a medal in a holster, but I have inlaid some holsters with arrowheads like this.......if interested PM or e-mail me. Also, (the best resource) you could contact Dave Cole (DCKNIVES) on this forum. He has inlaid almost anything that can be inlaid and has more experience than I. Mike
