Comparing Neatsfoot Oils

Can anyone explain what the difference is between the following flavors of neatsfoot oil, and under which circumstances each should be used?

• 100% Pure Neatsfoot Oil
  
• Prime Neatsfoot Oil Compound
  
• Lexol-NF

In case anyone's interested, I pm'ed Clay Miller, and here's his response:

Pure neatsfoot oil is made from cattle and equine bones and hoofs.

Neatsfoot oils compound is a mixture of neatsfoot oils and I believe refined petrolium oils

the lexol NF is a recipe from the makers of lexol that contains a small amount of neatsfoot oil.

The pure and the compound are both used on vegtan leather after tooling is finished and the leather is completely dry. It is sparingly applied and then allowed to "dry" or equally absorb into the leather. When appling the oil it should only be put on the grain side and never the flesh side. I have heard from several saddlemakers that the compound can make the stitching rot, and it can make the leather a lot darker than the pure.

The lexol NF is mainly used on chrome taned leather as a conditioner.
