Members klint fluitt Posted August 28, 2011 Members Report Posted August 28, 2011 I'm lookin for a machine to sew my saddle skirts, they usually range from 1/2 and less. I know I can get a cheaper machine that sews 1/2 but I don't want to constantly fix the timming. I'm in a budget but what is a good machine to sew skirts with, I looked at the ferdco 440 and the techsew GA5-1R but I heard they aint any good so I need advice. Quote
Contributing Member TwinOaks Posted August 29, 2011 Contributing Member Report Posted August 29, 2011 Check into the 441 clones made by Artisan, Cobra, and Cowboy. They're machines capable of at least 3/4 inch and use the Unison feed mechanism. A 9 inch arm machine should run you just under $2K, and the 16 inch machines go for around $2500. It's more machine than you probably need, but they will do the job and then some. The major suppliers of these machines have ad banners at the top of the page.
