newfiebackflip Report post Posted September 13, 2011 Hey everyone, I have just finished creating a traditional fold over pattern for a knife sheath. But I am having some creativity issues with what I would like to tool on it. The guy I am making it for is currently serving in the Canadian Forces Artillery. I was thinking of doing something sorta related to his trade but didn't want to make it tacky. Not really looking to do any sort of western or floral designs either. Not sure if this is going to be one of those less is more projects or not. Any thoughts or idea's? Thanks
radar67 Report post Posted September 13, 2011 How about and old fashioned cannon barrel? Or crossed cannon barrels.
newfiebackflip Report post Posted September 13, 2011 How about and old fashioned cannon barrel? Or crossed cannon barrels. I had already thought of that too actually just not interested in doing the crown with it. So maybe i will just do the barrels and find acrylic paint that looks close to a brass color or something and do that. Thanks for your input Radar
Ladykahu Report post Posted September 13, 2011 These guys do a fantastic range of 'metalic' colours that work really well http://www.jacquardproducts.com/products/paints/lumiere/colors.php they have a great brass that I used on my grandsons canon on the belt I made him.
