Hi all,

For most of my project i seldom use or never use deglazer or acetone to rub tooling leather before applying dye. Recently i have decided to rub the leather using acetone to see what the effect it will be. After rubbing it with leather and leave it to dry then i dye the leather. But the effect is not what i expected. The problem is the leather didn't dye evenly there are some darker spot or darker line and the overall result is not as good as leather without being clean with acetone. Would it be the tooling leather matter or the matter of procedure to apply acetone on leather?

Thank you.

Try not letting the leather dry after the acetone. Thats the way I heard it should be done.
