DanTheMan Report post Posted February 1, 2012 I am just getting started and want to add an edger to my tools. I want a size #1 and the less expensive models like Craftool come in size 2+. I found these size 1 edgers on Ebay that are made in Japan. Has anyone tried a Seiwa?. I am assuming the cheap Craftool models are being made somewhere in Asia also so the "Made in Japan" doesn't really bother me. . Thanks for any info. King's X Report post Posted February 1, 2012 I own one Craft Japan edger that I purchased from Hidecrafters (who by the way still stocks them, but maybe Seiwa's as well). They look the same as the Craftools edgers except their handles are a different color. Out of the package, I found that they were a lot sharper than my first Craftool edgers were. But unless you want to spend some serious sharpening time to get these tools up to speed, so you do not get frustrated, I would just spend a little extra $$ and move up to Barry King edgers. I have a lot of BK edgers, a few C.S. Osborne and Weaver edgers. I am mostly hitting up my BK edgers for any project that I am working on.
