First Holster Sig Sauer Sp2022

Well, after working on this all day, I had to take a break before moving to the molding stage. This is my first attempt at a holster. I had no idea hand stitching would be so time consuming.

Please feel free to leave pointers for molding!

very well done for a first holster! As good as it looks now, wait until you see your 50th holster. Hand stitching is very time consuming but you have it down very well. i got a machine after about 5 months of hand sewing though, and very glad i did. On the molding just remember that sometimes, less is more. look for those areas where the mold lines will compliment eachother and try not to make a line for every single little imprint in the gun. your edges and curves are great as well.

So far that looks really good for a first holster, much nicer than mine was. Your edges look really nice, somebody has been reading leatherworker. Its really hard to know how well you've done till the molding is complete and you can see how your seam lines line up with your gun in. All in all looks great, post some pics once you finish it up.

Not bad at all.

You are going to find that the sharp upswing you did in front of the trigger guard isnt going to act the way you think it will. It just one of those things you'll learn to work with/around in time.

Thank you all for the positive comments. Definately ecouraging me to continue the process. I couldn't wait to get home from work today to try molding. Below are today's pictures. She's in the oven getting her bake on now. Haha. Looking forward to applying the final coat.

I'm calling this finished. Some things I'll do on the next one is get a bone folder for more distinctive lines for molding and to add a support piece across the front. Oh, and now that I'm looking, not some much over-hang on the barrel tip. Overall, I'm satisfied with this, but looking forward to doing a second one with better leather.

Overall pretty darn nice. Just a couple of suggestions. I would resist the urge to put on a throat reinforcement. They don't really have much use on a pancake design and to my eye clutter up the clean look you've achieved. I would also mold less at the accessory rail. Other than that you did a fine job.
