Where And What Type Of Leather

I am having a hard time trying to find the proper type of leather to use on my holster project. I know I want to use 8oz. leather but most places insist you place a large order. I can't afford $100.00 plus at the moment, can someone give me a hint or guide me on how to find some affordable leather at the right size for my project. Thanks in advance.
