I had one given to me and was told that it was their great grandpa's saddle. The only marks on it was the makers mark on the front of the seat. It was a ribbon with ( T.A.Smith - Maker ) inside the ribbon. I was wondering if anyone has heard of him. I got to looking on the internet to see if i could find out what years he was making saddles or anything about him to see how old the saddle could be but couldnt find anything. if anyone could tell me anything about this it would be great.

I can try and add some pictures if that would help anyone

thanks

Shane, I also have one of these saddles. I have and am restoring my Uncle’s 1957 South Dakota High School Champion saddle. On the latigo holder is the only mark I could find. It is also marked with “T. A. SMITH - Maker”.
