Got tired of trying to find a good place to keep my glass burnisher so I made a case for it and I just put it on my tool wall. It also provides a grip for holding the burnisher when you're using it.

Thanks Bluesman,

I was keeping it in the plastic hanging box it came in and I knew it wouldn't last too much longer. I also like the idea of holding it by the leather grip when using. I saw this on a Tandy video that George Hurst did.

What weight of leather did you use? Been wanting to make one myself, but I wasn't sure how.

Glen,

This post was so old, I forgot that I had done it. However, I forget lots of things these days. This was made with 4-5 oz and I usually ask SLC to keep it closer to 4 than 5. I measured it out with space for stitching, dampened it, stamped the design, let it dry, dyed it, finished it, then sewed with a Tippman Boss, then redampened it just enough to allow it to mold, inserted the burnisher, let it dry and put it on the bench. Either side of the cover will come off, I normally hold one, squeeze the sides of the other slightly and it slips off. I leave one side on as a handle.

Ha. I was watching one of your videos and you commented that you'd made this from an idea by George Hurst (got to meet him at the IFoLG show a few weeks ago; really nice guy). I had a side of 9-10 oz leather that had some non-usable places and I figured I'd try that, but it was WAY too thick. I'll give it another go with the thinner leather and see what happens.

Thanks again.
