Members ncricket Posted July 21, 2012 Members Report Posted July 21, 2012 I am EXTREMELY interested in tooling and crafting. I want so bad to make my own Bronc nosebands but I can not find any patterns for it and nothing that shows me where to begin.. I need to know what size leather i need, what kind of needles for sewing if its needed because I want to hand sew it, ect. If anyone can PLEASE help me out. It would be Much appreciated. thank you Quote ~Cowgirl up~
dirtclod Posted July 21, 2012 Report Posted July 21, 2012 I'm guessing you have a halter all ready. Take it and measure the nose add 3 or 4 inches to the length so you have something to fold over and sew to. Get some poster board and just draw a pattern out and see how it looks on the halter if you like it use it, if you don't like the way it looks draw another one. 8 or 9 ounce leather should be fine if you want something a little thicker get some 10 / 12 ounce. It's been a while sense i sewed anything by hand but i think i used number 1 or number 2 size needles, if i think of it i'll look when i get out to the shop and make sure on the size. You will need a awl to, to make your holes for stitching. Quote I'm old enough to know that i don't know everything.
dirtclod Posted July 22, 2012 Report Posted July 22, 2012 I checked the size of the needles and they are a size zero. Quote I'm old enough to know that i don't know everything.
