I Want To Buy An Edge Guide.

I want to get a edge guide for my Cobra 17 flat bed and I'm thinking about trying one of these. I know all of them would work on straight sections, but I'm wondering about going around corners. Have you used any of these guides? If so how did they work for you?

Of those, I like the look of #2 best, but search the forums for 'kwokhing' and have a look at the neat drop-down guides.

rounded guide is a Must..

I have #1 and #3, they work okay. I also have from kwokhing, they are the best. Mine had both straight and the round.

I used #3 on a coaster and it worked but I think the problem is the foot walks the leather straight and you really have to concentrate to keep up with it on the curve.

Shorter stitches might help.

I am doing a purse for my wife that has some gentle and not so gentle outside curves. Decided to use the straight guide from kwokhing. Worked beautifully. Sewed with about 8spi, slowly around the corners. Never skipped a stitch.

I ordered #1. It costs $5.50. I should get it on Friday. I just wanted something cheap that I didn't have to drill any holes in my Cobra 17 for.

What machine is your guide on? Did you have to drill holes?

A Seiko cylinder arm. I had to elongate one hole in the guide about .5 mm so both screws would tighten. Before working on the hole I tried the guide with one screw, posed no problems. Love the doggone thing. I talked to a gentleman at the business to make sure which guide would work best.

BTW: I didn't need to do anything to the machine.

I received guide #1 (three corner guide) in the mail yesterday. The round little nub side does exactly what I need it to do, and the guide came with thumb screws. It took literally took two minutes to attach and adjust to where it was working like I wanted. I drew a line around it with a sharpie so if i want to take it off and put it back on.
