chainedrose Report post Posted August 11, 2012 im using 6 strands for this braid, 3 on each side. black, brown black in that order. i started from the left hand side, took the farthest (first strand) behind to the right hand side, took it under, over, under, back to the left side. then repeated similarly for the top most on the right hand side. took it to the left, under over under the 3 left hand side strands and back to the right side. now the front side looks like the first pic. while the back side looks different. why? what happened here? what went wrong? TwinOaks Report post Posted August 11, 2012 IIRC, for 6 strand round braid, you alternate the pattern when you switch sides. For example: From the left, go around and O-U-O; from the right, go around and U-O-U.

curlyjo Report post Posted August 12, 2012 I'm thinking it's OUO both ways, just like 12 in pairs is OUO each side. Or UOU whatever you start with. I just finished a 12 strand Roo bosal in pairs that was UOU. I think if you do U2 and O1 each side you end up with one side flat. Brad
TwinOaks Report post Posted August 12, 2012 Turns out that there's more than one way.....I was thinking of the u1, o2....u2,o1 version. Here's something that should help..........http://www.lbbyj.com/index.php?main_page=page&id=
