Members Jdbfish Posted September 14, 2012 Members Report Posted September 14, 2012 Wanting to make a pair of rodeo chaps. About how much material will I need for the main body, and fringe , yokes, trim , etc? Looking at doing trim in two colors, one directly behind the other.... Quote
dirtclod Posted September 14, 2012 Report Posted September 14, 2012 You will need one side for the chaps themselves and you might as well buy a side in all of the other colors you want. It will take a lot more than you think for the fringe espically if it's long. Quote
Members Jdbfish Posted September 14, 2012 Author Members Report Posted September 14, 2012 Thanks, do you know of a budget friendly place to get the leather? This will be my first try on chaps and don't want to spend a lot in case I mess up!!! Quote
dirtclod Posted September 14, 2012 Report Posted September 14, 2012 I'd try Springfield Leather or Waterhouse Leather. One other thing make two patterns for you chaps and write right and left leg on the patterns and lay both of them on your side before you cut to make sure you have enough room. Quote
