Okay, guys. I've got a pretty specific question now, regarding insoles. I know it's generally suggested to use like a 7-9 iron veg tanned leather for the insole, but I'm having trouble finding any in small quantities. I don't need an entire sole bend, so in looking around for heavier leathers I came across some 12-14oz moose which would get me a few pairs of insoles, for a pretty reasonable price. So, question, what is moose like? Is it suitable for making a holdfast in an insole? From the description on the site, it sounds like it might be a little too pliable, which would make the holdfast weak, right? Or am I worrying too much? Or should I just shut up and stick to the tried and true methods and materials?
