kgirl91 Report post Posted October 9, 2012 I'm trying to sew a heel counter directly to the midsole of the shoe (both are ~6oz vegetable tanned leather) at a right angle- the sole being horizontal and the heel counter, which cups the heel, being approximately vertical. The heel counter sits on top of the sole. Is there any sort of stitching method that's ideal for this? I'm doing a contrived half-whipstitch half- saddlestitch that's functional but ugly. I'm thinking that perhaps two rows of punched holes in the sole with the counter sitting in between the rows would work better but takes up significantly more room. I can post a photo if any of this is really unclear.

SpaceForRent Report post Posted July 4 I realize that I'm reviving a zombie post. Apologies... This *almost* helps with my project. Except in my case, I need the inside of the 90 degree corner to be the "front". I'm lining the inside of a box with leather. The stich will be mostly decorative since the leather will be glued. But it would be an extra measure of security for the seam to not open up. Is there a stitch for that?
