IngleGunLeather Posted November 24, 2012 Report Posted November 24, 2012 Just wondering what type of material to use for protecting finished leather goods for shipping. Bubble wrap? Foam peanuts? Newspaper? I don't really know what to use to protect holsters and belts from getting marks during shipment. Any help would be appreciated. Quote
Ambassador Beaverslayer Posted November 24, 2012 Ambassador Report Posted November 24, 2012 I was told a long time ago that shipping leather in plastic was a no-no. I use "cheese cloth" to wrap anything that is to be shipped now, and then foam peanuts. Quote

Where do you get cheesecloth at? Quote
Ambassador Beaverslayer Posted November 24, 2012 Ambassador Report Posted November 24, 2012 I get the cheese cloth at the local fabric store, I think you may also be able to get it at Home Depot as well, just not in big pieces. Quote
dirtclod Posted November 24, 2012 Report Posted November 24, 2012 I wrap my things in paper towels then put some bubble wrap over them. If their is space left in the box i put some crumpled news paper in to keep things from sliding around. That has been my way of doing things for close to 15 years and i never have had a problem. Chief31794 Posted November 24, 2012 Report Posted November 24, 2012 I wrap the item in tissue paper that I get from the dollar tree that is used for wrapping presents, then I wrap it in bubble wrap and away it goes. Chief Quote

Chief Ahh ha. And with Christmas right around the corner I'm sure I could stock up at a low price. Thanks Chief. Quote

The stuff I get is about 15 or 20 sheets for $1.00 at the Dollar Tree, it is very thin but protects the leather from the plastic, works well for me and isn't that expensive. Chief Quote
