Members ZackG32 Posted November 28, 2012 Members Report Posted November 28, 2012 I have been playing around with braiding and have gotten ok at the braiding itself. The problem I am having now if finishing the ends. If anyone could give some ways to end the braid. I am wanting to do a braided bracelet and also a wallet chain. So a way to finish the end around a key ring of something similar is something I needed to know. any help would be appreciative. Quote
Members megabit Posted November 28, 2012 Members Report Posted November 28, 2012 Depends on what exactly you want to do. If you just want the braid to stop you can do a terminal knot (and cover it with pineapple or gaucho knot) http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=19613&hl=%2Bterminal+%2Bknot To attache to a ring I would either backbraid a loop around it and cover the splice. Or my preferred method would be to use half as many strands as you intend to braid twice as long and braid the loop and join it. So you would start in the middle with say 4 strands for a distance enough to make an eye. Then bring the braid together into a 8 strand braid. Quote
