Members Cozee Posted January 14, 2013 Members Report Posted January 14, 2013 I am looking for various military stamps and coming up empty. I am thinking of having some custom ones made. I see that some are made out of delrin or nylon type plastics. Has anyone used these types of stamps and if so, your opinions? Thanks! Quote
Members GlenH Posted January 14, 2013 Members Report Posted January 14, 2013 That's what my maker stamp is made from. I use it with either Tandy's hefty handle or an arbor press. Quote
Members JJs Leatherworks Posted January 14, 2013 Members Report Posted January 14, 2013 I have had several made (maker and custom ones) and always pleased with the imprint. Many say they won't outlast a metal one, but if I have to replace it every '1000' projects, I will. I have learned though that the larger ones are better made to work with a press (if you have access to one) as if you try to hit it too hard to get a deep impression, it is easy to have it bounce and give a ghost impression - really doesn't look professional.
