Members fred Posted February 9, 2013 Members Report Posted February 9, 2013 Hello everyone. I have been asked to make a pool cue case using no rivets or thread in the assembly. How do I securely attach the handle and shoulder strap. To the main structure. Thanks in advance for your input. Quote
Contributing Member TwinOaks Posted February 9, 2013 Contributing Member Report Posted February 9, 2013 You'll need to use a method called 'buckstitching'. Quote
Members fred Posted February 9, 2013 Author Members Report Posted February 9, 2013 Thank you TwinOaks. I've considered "buckstitching". But was looking for other options. Maybe something more "frontier style" or some type of knot. Not quite sure. Just looking for other opinions. Quote
Members Cyberthrasher Posted February 9, 2013 Members Report Posted February 9, 2013 You can use some contact cement and a whipstitch, but, depending on the weight, it may not be as secure as a buckstitch. Buckstitch doesn't have as much room to move as a whipstitch or some of the other lacing techniques. Another thought is to do a buckstitch and then come back around with a whipstitch. Could look pretty cool. I've used double-loop or single loop for applying things too. Quote
Members billymac814 Posted February 9, 2013 Members Report Posted February 9, 2013 It would take quite a bit of work and lace but the Mexican basket weave makes a strong seam. It covers the edge though and I like the look of it. Quote
