Members JPNet Posted January 19, 2008 Members Report Posted January 19, 2008 When you make leather jewelry such as braided leather necklaces or bracelets what do you finish it with to protect the leather, and what would you clean it with after it has been worn several times? Quote
HorsehairBraider Posted January 19, 2008 Report Posted January 19, 2008 I've always just used Satin Shene. I got mine from Tandy. I would clean it the same way I would clean a saddle or bridle, but maybe others have a better idea. Quote
Michael Sheldon Posted January 19, 2008 Report Posted January 19, 2008 Agreed. For most "working" leather, I prefer lacquer or wax finishes. But for jewelry, I use acrylic. I prefer spray for these, but that's a personal preference. Quote

HorsehairBraider Posted January 25, 2008 Report Posted January 25, 2008 Here's one way: Cleaning Tack but as they say there are many ways. If you google "how to clean tack" you will get about a million links. After you read a couple you will see there are some basics, so in the end the one I gave you will work just fine. I'm still reeling from the thought that someone would NOT have a horse and therfore NOT know how to clean tack from birth! ^_^ Quote
