Jarednem Report post Posted March 16, 2013 Anyone have a certain way each of you prep your strop how and with what?
King's X Report post Posted March 16, 2013 (edited) I use a thin piece of leather with a tight grain and glue it to a flat and true board. I add a light coat of neatsfoot oil and when it soaks in, I rub my green rouge onto the leather strip. On the go, I use a piece of left over poster board or a business card to rub Green or White rouge for stropping. Hope this helps. Leela Valley Leather Report post Posted March 22, 2013 Decent strip of leather (not too thin, but not something that will turn spongy either) Glue it down to a good bit of light timber (should be cured and unlikely to warp). I give the grain a VERY light sanding with 600 grit (something for the compound to sit in). I use 0.5 micron diamond honing compound (grease based) that I apply sparingly and moisten periodically with neatsfoot oil.
