Cogs Report post Posted March 27, 2013 I'd like to get some feed back on using jell padding. Customer says he has a heavy guitar and wants jell in it. Is there anything different involved with adding jell? I think he's going to opt for a 10-11 oz strap with a soft liner and jell inside. He'll provide the jell pack. Should have a design this weekend. Thanks for the help, Bill
TwinOaks Report post Posted March 27, 2013 The only thing I can think of, specifically for gel, is that you might have to layout the stitch line more carefully. You certainly don't want to sew through it.
Cogs Report post Posted March 29, 2013 Well, it may not be so much of a concern anyway. Sounds like it will be a Planet Wave Gel guitar strap shoulder pad. It should measure out to be about 13" long X 3" wide. I'm sure it will sew onto the inside of the strap liner and, by the looks of the photo, I shouldn't have to do any special trimming to it (outside of trim off the velcro strap on the back). I'm thinking this may be better than trying to put a gel pad under the liner. Bill (Hey, I got the spelling right! Gel).
