Members WChops Posted April 2, 2013 Members Report Posted April 2, 2013 Hello. I'm about to start my first leather project ever and this forum seems to be a source of great knowledge about leather working. The project I have in mind is to reupholster the seat on my Vespa scooter. The original vinyl is ripped and I figured I may as well upgrade it to leather and learn a little about working with leather while I'm at it. I've disassembled the seat and pulled apart the original upholstery to use as a template. It looks like I'll need a couple of sq yards maximum. I've attached a photo of the type of leather and stitching I'd like to replicate. Questions for the knowledgable pros here: 1. Is there a particular type of leather that is best for this application. I.e. that is weather and sun proof? 2. Where is a good place to source that leather? Thanks! Quote
