Members Dennis Oakley Posted April 23, 2013 Members Report Posted April 23, 2013 Here are a few more dice cups I made, two smaller ones and a larger one. I put a lighter in the picture for scale. I'm getting better but still have a long way to go. Quote
Members H factor Posted April 23, 2013 Members Report Posted April 23, 2013 I like em guy! How do you attatch the bottom of the cups? Quote
Members WScott Posted April 23, 2013 Members Report Posted April 23, 2013 There is a great write up on making dice cups and such in Al Stohlman's The Art of Hand Sewing Leather book http://www.tandyleatherfactory.ca/en-cad/61944-00.aspx?countryid=998 Quote
Members Dennis Oakley Posted April 24, 2013 Author Members Report Posted April 24, 2013 Thanks for the feedback. The cups are made of 8/9 oz leather. The bottom is a disc that is larger than the diameter of the cup which is wet-formed and put into the cup while wet. Once it dries I hand stitch around the bottom to hold it in. A second disc of leather goes inside the cup to form a flat bottom over the wet-formed piece. Quote

Members humperdingle Posted April 24, 2013 Members Report Posted April 24, 2013 Hi, I quite fancy making something similar for holding pencils etc... Could you possibly put up a pic of the seam, please? Quote
Members Dennis Oakley Posted April 25, 2013 Author Members Report Posted April 25, 2013 Thanks. If you subscribe to the Tandy Leathercraft Library there's a two part video that shows how to make them. Tomorrow night I'll put up some detail pictures, the pattern, and some instructions. Quote
