Leather Handling/shipping Costs

Do any of you order from Horween's distributor Tannery row? I've placed a few orders and handling and shipping charges are in the range of 45-60 dollars. Is this average for the rest of you?

never ordered from there, but how much did you purchase? I usually estimate about $20 per side when I'm ordering Veg-Tan. Not sure how much Horween's leather weighs.

I ordred about 3 sides so maybe its not that far off?

yeah, it wouldn't sound like it's too far off depending on the weight. For reference, I get all my veg-tan from Springfield. My last order had a side of 5/6 oz and a few bits of hardware and shipping was about $12. With 7/8 oz it's usually about 18 - 20 with UPS. So, I'd say you're relatively within range in comparison.

I just ordered a couple sides from Tannery Row and handling/shipping was about $60. You're not the only one.

Their shipping and handling is expensive. I made an order that would have fit in a medium priority box, and shipping was about $60. I have ordered from them twice, and had high shipping both times.

My last bundle of 4 1/2 oz oil tanned boot leather (6 sides) was $38. -- Tex

Old thread, but importing into Australia is close to $500 a pop for 3-10 sides.
