Members jarroyo Posted June 10, 2013 Members Report Posted June 10, 2013 Hello All! Like many, I'm a newbie to leather craft (though quickly becoming obsessed) I thought I would present this question you you all out here. I have a piece of 5/6 oz oil tan that I've made a small series of wallets with and in handling them, I've noticed a small amount of residue from the oil coming off which I would like to try and limit. Anyone have any suggestions on how I can remove some of this residue without affecting the color or suppleness of the leather? Thanks! Josh Quote When you get, give. When you learn, teach. Members goldenstonebazaar Posted July 12, 2013 Members Report Posted July 12, 2013 There are water-proofing compounds for oil-tanned leather, like Bee Natural brand or Pecard's. If they keep water out, they may keep dye in. Didn't try them yet, but planning to. Quote
