jarroyo Report post Posted June 10, 2013 Hello All! Like many, I'm a newbie to leather craft (though quickly becoming obsessed) I thought I would present this question you you all out here. I have a piece of 5/6 oz oil tan that I've made a small series of wallets with and in handling them, I've noticed a small amount of residue from the oil coming off which I would like to try and limit. Anyone have any suggestions on how I can remove some of this residue without affecting the color or suppleness of the leather? Thanks! Josh
goldenstonebazaar Report post Posted July 12, 2013 There are water-proofing compounds for oil-tanned leather, like Bee Natural brand or Pecard's. If they keep water out, they may keep dye in. Didn't try them yet, but planning to.
