Working With Shark Skin

Hi guys, I am planning a Avenger style built using shark accents. The holster body will be made out of 7/8 oz leather. I plan on using the shark skin as accent. My question is what weight should I use to glue the shark skin to. It will be a one piece collor and belt loop piece. I was thinkng 6/7. do you think this is too thick with the shark glued to it?

If you are using it strictly as an accent it only needs to be glued and stitched to the holster body. As a throat collar etc. then 4/5 or 5/6 works nicely.
