Members skivery Posted July 9, 2013 Members Report Posted July 9, 2013 I'm in Chicago and working on some 4 x 6 foot tooled leather panels for a wall that will be installed in Palm Springs, Ca. I'm using 5 - 6 oz leather, and I plan on using Barge to cement the leather to a 1/2" MDF substrate, and skiving, glueing and wrapping the edges. It's summer and humid in Chicago, and I'm worried that the leather will crack once it's in the desert heat. I also called the Barge company to ask about the potential expansion/contraction of the glue and how it may affect the leather they said they've never heard of any issues, but I'm curious if anyone out there has any input either about leather tooled and glued in the midwest and sent to the desert. Thanks, Casey Quote
