So I have been using some manilla colored card stock for making patterns for various styles of wallets (different size cards slots, etc). The problem is that after a couple of times tracing around the pieces the card stock doesn't keep a firm edge to maintain an accurate trace.

Any suggestions on a material that is easy to cut but can still hold up over multiple uses?

Much appreciated,

t

aprion, I use a clear, thin plastic sheet made for making sewing patterns. You can cut it with a utility knife or scissors. Like this, but available in most sewing supply shops.

Others speak of using a plastic sheet made for painters. Apparently it comes in rolls in varying thicknesses and is available at Lowe's, etc. I haven't tried it but it sounds like an inexpensive alternative to the commercial sewing product I have been using.

Good luck and let us know what you discover.

I use the cardboard off of cold drink and beer cases. It works fine, when i make my patterns i glue two pieces together and cut them out. They will last a long time.
