Gun Grip

I am wanting to make a set of oversized grips for my North American Arms out of leather. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions. Anyone done something of this nature in the past?

It has been done for 1911s. My suggestion would be to either A: cover a set of oversized grips with some 1 or 2 oz leather or B: glue leather together like the old KBar knife handles and the shape fromthere. Good luck post pictures if you do this project.

As the Glockanator says, you can use a stack of rather heavy leather epoxied together to form a good stack, then shape it with a Dremel (type) tool. Burnish the (large) edges and you have a pretty decent piece of unique work. Just a thought, comment, and FWIW from the grumpy old guy. Here's an example of a stack used as a holster welt. Mike Mike
